Bodega Malbec in Toluca Lake offers a focused dining experience rooted in Argentinian and broader Latin American flavors. This full-service restaurant blends traditional South American dishes with a warm, intimate setting that tends to fill up quickly, especially on weekend evenings. The space is cozy, making reservations a good idea if you plan to visit on a Friday or Saturday night, as street parking is the primary option nearby.

The atmosphere feels genuine and inviting, with a bar area that caters to those who might stop by for a glass of Malbec or a local craft beer before sitting down to dinner. The restaurant shines when it comes to its well-prepared meat dishes—a highlight being the tomahawk and skirt steak, often paired alongside classic Argentinian sides like chimichurri bread or sautéed spinach. For pasta lovers, options such as raviolis and noquis offer rich, carefully crafted takes that stand out from typical Italian-American fare.

Visitors who prioritize attentive, knowledgeable service will find the staff here accommodating, including for those with dietary restrictions. It’s a spot that works well for celebrations or casual date nights, where the vibrant yet unpretentious vibe encourages lingering over good food and drink. The espresso bar rounds out the experience, offering strong coffees and traditional Argentinian desserts like dulce de leche crepes and flan de caramelo, perfect for finishing a meal.

For locals, Bodega Malbec is a place to savor authentic Argentinian classics without having to venture far from L.A., ideal for early evening dinners that extend into relaxed conversations over a glass of red wine. Given the tight quarters and popularity, arriving a bit early or settling in for an outdoor seating option can enhance the visit, especially during warmer months.

Went here for date night during the DineLA menu experience. My wife opted for the $55 pre fixed dine la menu while I opted for their standard menu. Interestingly enough their dine la menu is completely different than their everyday menu. Restaurant is quaint, bar is nice and space is tight. On a Friday night the house was packed to the brim. Only outdoor seating was available. Food was prepped and made with precision. The empanadas were the best. Freshly rolled dough, with delicious beef and spinach and cheese fillings! The chimichurri sauce was fresh. The pork was fall off the bone. The entrana aka skirt steak was cooked perfectly, medium rare and presented nicely with 3 sauces for dipping, with mash potatos and roasted veggies. The scallops were in their shell with a fresh apple salad. Free Parking in the back or on the street. All in all Bodega Malbec is a great place to Dine. I would come back! Very solid Argentinian steak house.

Bodega Malbec in Toluca Lake never disappoints! The NY Ribeye Steak Sandwich is incredibly juicy and tender, packed with flavor. The staff are always smiling and truly enjoy what they do. The warm, welcoming vibe makes every visit a great experience.

My friends took me here to celebrate my birthday and boy was it delicious. The first thing you should be aware coming here is that it's street parking so just look around. They made reservations ahead of time and for a Friday night, they were busy. When we got seated our waiter came to introduce himself and took our drinks order. For our appetizers we started off with the empanadas, we got 2 orders so we can get all the different type. They also give complimentary bread here as well. Our favorite empanadas was the beef because of the taste, the chicken had a more sweet taste to it. The ham & chesee was okay but I didn't like the spinach one. For our entrée, we all went with the Bife De Chorizo which is their 16oz NY steak. We all got it medium rare and they cooked it perfectly, the seasoning was spot on and it was very tender. I got regular fries for my side and it was crispy. We finish off the night with my ice cream in a cup and they sang happy birthday to me. The service we received was great, our waiter was attentive to us.

Had an incredible dinner at Malbec in Toluca Lake tonight! We got the tomahawk steak and it was cooked perfectly. The pasta was also out of this world. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for amazing Argentine food.

Went here as a group holiday celebration for my work treated by our awesome boss (Hi Megan!) There were around 14 people to order and serve. I have to praise our server Lucas!! I have food allergies, and despite all the orders in our group, he was very attentive, and helpful to accommodate the allergies. The food was delicious, the vibe is great! Thank you Lucas

Argentina spot with a cozy vibe. Came here for dinner with my parents prior to catching a show at the Colony Theater and made a reservation online in advance. There’s street parking available. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We ordered a few things to split which included the calamari and shrimp, the mollejas, pollo a las hierbas (an extra $2 to make it spicy), and Ojo de Bife. The meat was all fantastic; everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The calamari and shrimp wasn’t too oily, and I liked the different sauces they provided for the Ojo. You can pick your choice of two sides, so we were able to try the mash potatoes, roasted vegetables, sautéed spinach, and roasted potatoes. They were all good but mash potatoes were particularly silken and creamy. For dessert, we split a crema catalana which was not too sweet and had an evenly burnt top. The vibes were cute and it’s a good spot for a small group or couples.
